Your role at Clorox:
A member of the Plant Engineering team based in Raleigh, NC

As a Plant Process Engineer, this employee must use engineering principles and Clorox Early Management tools to design and improve Clorox manufacturing processes that involve the mixing, conversion, or reaction of raw materials through various unit operations into finished products.
In this role, you will:
Provides day-to-day process engineering technical expertise to manufacturing operations as needed. Frequently part of a multi-functional teams providing chemical/process engineering functional expertise for project design, construction, commissioning, and start-up, including projects related to other disciplines, such as packaging, facilities improvements, distribution, and fulfillment. Using Clorox engineering standards and processes, develop project scope of work and cost estimates related to process systems.
Defines, manages, and critically reviews work products from outside engineering firms to provide detailed process engineering work for projects. Will perform functions of capital project manager which includes responsibility for defining overall project scope, cost, obtaining AFE approval, construction management and commissioning activities. Must be capable of working across different technologies within the Plant. Occasionally will manage projects across multiple locations simultaneously. Position requires approximately 10% travel.
What we look for:
  • 2-5 years of professional experience including 2 years working in areas related to consumer packaging goods, personal care and/or FDA regulated industries using manufacturing technologies.
  • 1+ years of production/operational work experience.
  • Good chemical engineering capability related to use of principles of mass and energy balances and application of engineering principles against common unit operations.
  • Good written, listening, and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of organization as well as the ability to effectively organize and lead meetings.
  • Ability to work with a cross-function of Plant Operators, Mechanics, Technicians, R&D, Central Engineering, other corporate personnel, outside resources, and contractors to deliver results.
  • Ability to plan and organize work independently and work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to lead informal and formal teams and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge required of manufacturing equipment/systems with a specific emphasis on Batching Systems, Liquid Filling, and Packaging.
  • Experience with equipment types/styles and line speeds similar to the Company’s current production systems a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in S88 Batching and/or PackML desirable.
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or other engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering Degree is preferred

    –Zone A: $67,600 - $123,700
    –Zone B: $62,000 - $113,400
    –Zone C: $56,400 - $103,100
