Plant Manager*

*
SUMMARY*: Responsible for the management of the manufacturing operation. Plans, directs, and coordinates the operations of all technical and production and support departments. Assumes responsibility for the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods. Develops manpower requirements and sets priorities for production schedules based on plan.

*
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include the following:

• In conjunction with the COO, determines plant policies consistent with company policies and directs and supervises the application of such policies to the assigned manufacturing operations.
• Execute the sales revenue and operating income plan.
• Under limited supervision, directly manages and supervises technical managers, production managers, production supervisors, and production coordinators with respect to production volume, cost and quality of production and meeting production schedules and delivery dates. Forecast labor requirements through capacity planning and recommends equipment or layout changes, production methods or material handling procedures. Initiates and recommends purchase of new capital equipment.
• Understand, utilize, and leverage the DRT business systems.
• Enforce company policies, schedules, shifts, and operations protocol.
• Stimulates maximum efficiency, productivity and throughput of supervisors, materials, and the engineering organizations – including production workers. Coordinates with the Materials Manager to ensure efficient utilization of equipment and facilities. Controls quality, cost of production, overhead costs, and receiving of materials through appropriate subordinates.
• Responsible for budgetary compliance for all shop floor and support departments.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy condition on company property to achieve the best working environment possible for all employees and visitors. This includes responsibility for maintenance and care of the facility. Ensures proper maintenance of plant and production facilities (work centers) and machinery and equipment, including preventive maintenance program.
• Responsible for quality control functions and adherence to company policy and standards related to both process and product quality.
• Reviews and approves recommendations of subordinates in matters of personnel or rate changes.
• Performs other assignments as requested or as business needs require.

Qualifications: *

• Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or operations management in addition to at least 5 years operations leadership in manufacturing.
• Extensive knowledge and management of ERP Systems, BaaN preferred.
• Experience developing and managing operating plans and capital investment plans.
• Knowledge of budgetary compliance for shop floor and support departments.
• Working knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement and the important of driving cycle time
• Knowledge of tolerances. We work with .0002 tolerance
