Job description
Our client, a well established co-manufacture of confections in the Pittsburgh area, is
recruiting for a Plant Leader. In this key leadership role you will oversees the daily operations
of the plant, and coordinate, plan, and direct all the activities involved in the production
process.
Key Tasks:
· Participates in all prerequisite programs ensuring the adherence to the facility’s HACCP/Food Safety programs
· Works closely with the General Manager & Controller on manufacturing plans, goals and future products
· Oversees Maintenance and ensures facility is operational
· Develops systems and processes that track productivity
· Analyzes collected data to find areas of waste and/or duplication of effort
· Allocates resources effectively, including labor and supplies to maximize workflow and output
· Provides technical expertise on set-up and start-up of all new products
· Maintains all recipe documentation and all changes
· Has input on equipment purchases, installations and ongoing modifications
· Directs and supports Plant Supervisors & Maintenance Supervisor
· May have other responsibilities as necessary

· Technical expertise in the manufacturing process
· Ability to focus on and improve the production process
· Excellent leadership and team-building skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience:
· Requires 7+ years production experience, preferably in food environment
· Previous supervisory experience
· Must be familiar with plant operations and internal procedures
· Experience in implementing process improvement initiatives
