Planner - Fort Lauderdale
Calvin Giordano & Associates (CGA), Planning Division is seeking a planning professional with demonstrated experience as a municipal planner or consultant. We have an immediate opening for a planning position involving client contact, project management, on-going planning and zoning assistance, and development review.
CGA a SAFEbuilt company serves a variety of clients in South Florida addressing a multitude of local and regional planning issues, our services include comprehensive planning, urban planning, community planning, zoning/land use regulation, platting, permitting, urban design, land use amendments, rezoning, creating new land use categories and municipal planning departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in project management of clients and support planning services in other jurisdictions.
- Assist with development review projects, coordinating both internal and external divisions and referral agencies.
- Attend commission and council meetings on a limited basis as needed.
- Work as part of a consulting team on amendments to zoning ordinances, special zoning topics and related projects.
- Complete plan review and inspections for municipal clients.
- Prepare staff reports for Planning Boards and City Commission meetings for municipal clients.
- Assist with marketing and business development efforts within the region.
- Contribute to the growth and reputation of the Firm through speaking at conferences, publishing professional articles or other similar activities.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in planning or related field
- AICP Preferred but not required
EXPERIENCE: 2+ years’ experience in the municipal planning field. Consulting experience a plus.
