We are seeking applicants for a
Pipefitter in our International Falls, MN Paper Mill. The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team in support of a paper manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems including steam, water, and heating systems.
- Responsible for the installation and repairing of expansion joints, valves, gaskets, and steam traps.
- Read drawings, complete layouts, cut/join and fit pipe tubing.
- Ability to make pipe patterns for saddles, reducers and offsets along with pipe fabrication.
- Maintain condensate systems.
- Install, repair, replace, maintain and modify piping systems.
- Install, repair, replace, maintain, and modify natural gas, oxygen, gas (including chlorine), chemical, and process lines.
- Install, repair, replace, maintain and modify non-condensable lines.
- Perform ARC welding and TIG welding.
- Perform proper rigging and use of mobile cranes, lift conveyors and hoists.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Ability to obtain a Minnesota High Pressure Piping License within 4 years.
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Ability to sit, stoop, and bend.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work from heights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a paper or other manufacturing environment.
- Completion of a formal pipefitter apprenticeship or currently enrolled in one or equivalent experience and training.
- Preference given for applicants with a MN state plumbing license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
- Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
- Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
