Advanced Math and Science Academy, a demanding college preparatory charter school, is seeking to hire committed, skilled, and inspiring educators. AMSA is committed to preparing all students to succeed in college and beyond. Located in Marlborough, MA, AMSA includes 6th through 12th grade classes. The Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School is currently accepting applications for a full time long term sub position as a middle school Physics teacher for an employee leave beginning as soon as possible, through February of 2023.Teachers and Staff Members at Advanced Math and Science Academy will: Focus intensely on increasing student achievement and character growth for all students. Create inspiring, challenging, and effective teaching and learning experiences for all our students. Be committed to serving all students, including English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities, in the context of the regular education classroom using a variety of inclusion models. Contribute to a strong and supportive professional learning community. Job Responsibilities: The middle school Physics teacher will: Teach several sections of Physics for grades 7&8. Teach two sections of sustainability 11&12.Work collaboratively with other staff to implement curriculum and build school culture across the school. Work with administration to uphold and support all school policies and procedures. Other responsibilities as assigned in helping to maintain a safe and orderly school environment, (i.e. traffic and/or lunch duties.)Qualifications: Strong commitment to Advanced Math and Science Academys mission, values, and educational model. Ability to collaborate, work well under pressure, and maintain a sense of humor and humility. Bachelors degree in Physics education or relevant academic field is required; Masters degree is preferred. Experience in teaching physics courses preferred.Certification in Physics (grades 6-8) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education preferred.Current authorization to work in the United States.
