The Nuvance Health Talent Acquisition team is adding a full time Physician Recruiter to its growing team to support our growing Medical Practice (Nuvance Health Medical Practice) in recruiting physicians and advanced practice providers. Although this role will be primarily supporting our Primary Care provider needs, all members of the physician/ advanced practitioner recruitment team are expected to be flexible to support changing recruitment areas and priorities over time. This role will be a hybrid working environment with both remote and in person responsibilities in the Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York and the greater Fairfield County area in Connecticut. Nuvance Health serves 1.5 million residents across New York and Connecticut and includes more than 2,600 aligned physicians, 12,000 employees, seven hospitals (Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Northern Dutchess Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, Sharon Hospital, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center), a large network of primary care and specialty practices, and multiple affiliated organizations.

Summary

The Physician Recruiter is responsible for the full cycle recruitment process of physicians and advanced practice providers. This position engages with organizational key stakeholders to advise and provide updates of all recruitment efforts and trends. The Physician Recruiter establishes and maintains a collaborative working relationship with both internal and external clients and third-party vendors. This position requires continuous collaboration with hiring managers to develop proactive recruitment strategies to meet operational staffing needs. Includes some support of locum or temporary staffing for provider roles as needed.

Responsibilities

1.Responsible for full life cycle recruitment of all provider roles in assigned areas of responsibilities, including arranging for candidate interviews, either in person and/or remote, and candidate travel where required.

2.Builds and maintains strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders including but not limited to Human Resources Business Partners (HRPBs), HR COEs (Centers of Excellence), and Medical Group and Hospital Leadership teams.

3.Develops an understanding of Network operations for the assigned client group in order to anticipate future business needs and effectively market both Nuvance Health and the Medical Practice. Develops and maintains working knowledge of the health system and regional communities in order to assist with candidate inquiries.

4.Consults with the Director and/or Manager of Physician Recruitment and physician recruitment team members, HR, physician compensation, and key business stakeholders to deliver collaborative solutions and adjust talent strategies as required.

5.Identifies and builds robust applicant talent pool by staying current with industry standards, maintaining external job board postings with key provider job boards, engaging in outreach opportunities for fellows, residents, and APPs, and researching and implementing new recruitment platforms and strategies.

6.Partners with internal and external resources as needed to build and sustain a robust pipeline of sourced talent, including proactive database sourcing and email blasting to target audiences.

7.Identifies and participates in Provider Recruitment events including but not limited to in- person regional job fairs, remote and/or virtual recruitment/job fairs and college recruitment events.

8. Develops and maintains an effective working knowledge of provider Fair Market Value, local physician employment agreements, employment process, offer packages, compensation and benefits to answer candidate questions and develop offers working with Provider compensation, the Director or Manager of Physician Recruitment, and Medical Group leadership.

9. Participates in regular onboarding meetings to stay abreast of candidate credentialing and maintains candidate engagement through to start date.

10.Understands and complies with Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures in accordance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act;

11.Responsible to understand and comply with all employee policies related to talent selection.

12.Meets or exceeds all established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

13.Demonstrates ability to cross train in different areas of physician and APP recruitment and non-provider recruitment as needed.

14.Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

15.Maintains and models Nuvance Health values.

16.Performs other duties as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3 years of experience required in corporate or healthcare recruitment, practice management operations/relations and/or healthcare marketing. Strong preference for prior executive and/or physician/APP recruitment experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization. Demonstrate a professional and adaptable demeanor with internal and external clients, including administrators, physicians, peers, and support staff.
  • Exhibit a high energy level, and demonstrate the ability to work as a team, with flexibility in work habits to schedule and meet the needs of the medical staff. Occasional evening meetings are required and flexibility to accommodate provider inquiries outside of office hours. Some travel to regional physician/APP career fairs and educational conferences required.
  • The ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize a large volume of detail-oriented work in accordance with changing deadlines.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision, set priorities, and follow through to accomplish results.
  • Strong computer technology skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Teams and/or Zoom Platforms, and Advanced Excel skills to analyze data preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws related to appropriate interview and screening processes, including: EEO, ADA and immigration, a plus.
