Overview:
Leon S. Peters rehabilitation center is seeking a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to join our inpatient Rehab team! In this role, the candidate will primarily work in a 30-bed rehab unit which cares for patients with a variety diagnosis including traumatic brain injuries, stroke, spinal cord injuries, multiple trauma, debility (respiratory, cardiac, multi medical problems) and other diagnosis. Physician responsibility will include accurately assesses the care and the needs of the patients and develop strategic treatment plans in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
Complete specialized, required documentation for rehab physicians in conjunction with CMS guidelines for admissions, evaluation, treatment plan, and discharge.
Participate in weekly team conferences with an interdisciplinary team in order to create and update treatment plans.
Share in the rotation with all rehab physicians for on-call weekends and weekdays.
Apply rehabilitation medicine concepts to assist in appropriate admissions per rehab criteria and length of stay while forecasting with specialized team members.
Attend quarterly Rehabilitation Medicine Meetings. Qualifications:

Qualifications:
Valid practice licensure for CA
Board Certified in Physical Medicine Rehabilitation
At least 5 years of clinical experience working on a 20+ bed rehabilitation unit, carrying a caseload of at least 15 patients with varying rehabilitation diagnoses.

Preferences:
Specialty certification in Traumatic brain injury/stroke
Specialty certification in spinal cord injury
