Job description

Pharmacy delivery driver must have knowledge of the regions they deliver to and be able to properly handle sensitive, confidential materials, such as prescription drugs and related documents. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, coordinating and performing deliveries to patients and campuses and vehicle maintenance.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensures assigned vehicle is inspected annually. Maintains gas or electric charge, oil, water and appropriate tire inflation. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle by vacuuming and washing at least once a week.

2. Ensures credit slips are signed and mileage annotated when fueling vehicles.

3. Efficiently coordinates daily deliveries between all delivery drivers. Ring up deliveries at the point of sale.

4. Make scheduled and unscheduled deliveries of interoffice mail and other documents to campuses.

5. Follow driving safety guidelines including speed limits, lane changes, and use of turn signals at all times.

6. Complete all required paperwork, including delivery reports and signatures from recipients of packages.

7. Carefully load and unload pharmaceutical products from vehicle, pharmacy and various locations. Verifies pharmacy products are delivered to the appropriate individuals and location.

8. Provides excellent internal/external customer service.

9. Performs other related duties as assigned.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of one (year) delivering products or providing transportation services for an organization

Clean driving record of no less than one year required

Current Class C license in the State of Texas

Familiar with the areas serviced by agency facilities

Possess strong communication skills in English required

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Ability to safely operate a vehicle eight or more hours per day

Scheduled hours and/or work locations are subject to change


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Finger Dexterity: Using fingers to make small movements such as spraying or picking up small objects.


Talking: Frequently conveying detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, clearly, or quickly.


Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information; hear whispered voice at five (5) feet.


Repetitive Motions: Frequently and regularly using the wrists, hands, and fingers.


Visual: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or other materials.


Physical: Walking, standing for extended periods of time. Climbing stairs/ladders; crouching or crawling during custodial maintenance activities. May have to lift, pull, push heaving equipment, and other such items weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.

  • High School/GED or better in General Business
