As a Consumer Loan Underwriter II’s, you will examine a client’s loan application to determine the degree of risk based on the banks credit policy.You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including reviewing/analyzing credit bureau data, tax returns, financial statements, appraisal reports, supporting loan documentation and developing loan policy and procedures.Additionally, Consumer Loan Underwriter II’s are expected to identify any potential loan risks, condition loan requests, provide alternative loan restructuring, communicate with Senior Leadership on changing market trends, build a great rapport with clients and fellow associates, and treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.

All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.

Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications.
  • High School diploma or higher
  • 6 years of credit underwriting experience or equivalent work experience
  • Specialty Loan Knowledge such Secondary Market Investor and/or Business Banking Lending is a plus
  • Familiarity with consumer and real estate disclosers
Desired Qualifications: To be considered an ideal candidate, you should possess some of the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 8+ years of underwriting experienced preferred
  • Knowledge of basic Secondary Market guidelines
  • Some understanding of Business Banking Lending
  • Nuances of Portfolio Lending
  • Knowledge of FIS/ IBS Platform is desired

  • Adept at utilizing current technology and software
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize based on a deadline-driven environment
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PDF
Work Environment:
  • Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours)
  • Sitting for extended periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours)
  • Using keyboards and viewing computer monitors for extended periods of time
