As a Barclays Personal Assistant, you will provide assistance to the Chief Financial Officer supporting US Consumer Banking. You will also be instrumental in providing comprehensive PA support to senior leaders (MD and D) across the Consumer Banking & Payments Finance team. Lastly, as a Barclays Personal Assistant, you will be handling and assisting wider Consumer Banking & Payments Finance communication plan.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month, or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. What will you be doing?

  • Taking care of extensive diary, schedule assistance and proactive forward planning, solving frequent diary conflicts constructively, balancing relative priorities and commitments
  • Booking all travel arrangements including Visas, accommodation, and itineraries under own initiative, balancing the relative priorities and commitments of the manager and business
  • Acting as the main reference point both in the presence and absence of senior leaders and resolving a wide range of queries, channeling to the appropriate area if necessary
  • Organizing a wide range of meetings, attaching relevant papers, researched information, circulating meeting agendas, and treating all materials with care and confidentiality
  • Resolving queries where possible otherwise channeling to appropriate area and following up, helping to maintain key relationships by scheduling monthly team meetings and 1:1’s
  • Processing all expenses in line with policy timelines actively and flagging direct report expense submissions to be approved
  • Managing IT and Request approvals on behalf of the senior leaders, and following up/ highlighting any actions/tasks where possible
  • Working closely with MD, CFO Consumer Banking and Payments (CB&P) to support on the wider communication plan for the CB&P

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous PA/EA experience required with clear communication in both verbal and written dialogue
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times is critical, as well as being resilient & highly organized in a fast paced environment
  • Great interpersonal skills to deal with a range of people and situations and ability to work as part of a team
  • High level of skill/competency in IT – Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Solid and clear communication skills
  • Previous banking experience
  • Good level of numeracy needed for budget figures/ expenses
  • Familiarity with using WebEx, Coupa, FileSite, and Diligent
