Position Summary

The Memory Care (MC) Manager has the primary clinical oversight of memory care operations and ensures that the care provided in MC neighborhoods is consistent with established standards, best practices and in full compliance with all regulatory requirements. The MC Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of MC staff including Resident Service Providers (RSPs) and medication technicians (MTs), provides hands-on assistance with care delivery to set an example and set the standards for all MC staff. Must have flexible availability.

Job Functions:

  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations in the MC neighborhoods.
  • Maintain high quality, innovative programming and services for MC residents.
  • Provide clinical care as needed, including wound care, assistance with medication administration and other treatments that require a licensed nurse.
  • Ensure caregiving operations, including pharmacy/medication management operations are in compliance with TITLE 22 (DSS) and all other regulatory requirements and standard pertaining to dementia care.
  • Provide assistance with staff scheduling and coverage, as needed.
  • Provide assistance with time-card management and approval, as needed.
  • Conduct health assessments to pre-screen prospective residents, including review of all required move-in documentation.
  • Prepare internal incident and licensing reports and monthly tracking log for all falls, hospitalizations, and skin issues to ensure all documentation is accurate and current. All incidents must be recorded on MyUnity.
  • Ensure DSS survey readiness.
  • Participate in employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions, as needed.
  • Lead care-plan meetings with families, outside providers and ensure all care-plans are up-to date.
  • Supervise MC staff on all shifts.
  • Provide recognition and partner with other directors, managers to create an engaged culture for staff, residents and families.
  • Guide and educate team members on non-pharmacological interventions that enhance the resident experience.
  • Work closely with Life Enrichment personnel. Promote the best practices and consistent delivery of the high quality dementia care by modeling and assisting in the delivery of care.
  • Monthly Medication Auditing-Ensures medication orders on MyUnity match medication supply on hand.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers (internal and external) to ensure that residents’ health care and psychosocial needs are met by their respective health care providers.
  • Evaluate staff knowledge and competency, conducting appropriate in-service trainings.
  • Participate in the orientation of new employees and ongoing education of assigned staff.
  • Support the entire Health & Wellness Department and provide care and oversight for Assisting Living Residents as needed and directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of fifty (50) pounds. All lifts and carry greater than 50 lbs. are required to be performed with a two person lift and/or mechanical lift equipment.

  • Must be able to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situation
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach

Note: Annual Salary is dependent on experience
