This Per Diem-Clinical Assistant will be responsible for:
  • Under supervision of a registered nurse, provide basic bedside nursing care, physiological monitoring for patients ranging from infant to your adult in a dynamic outpatient setting.
  • In collaboration with the RN you will care for patients who are require infusion therapies, diagnostic testing, and food allergy challenges.
  • You will also be responsible for checking in patients, obtaining heights and weights, obtaining vital signs and oxygen saturation measurements.
  • You will also work with staff to maintain unit (ordering/stocking) and provide support to patients and families during their infusion or procedure.
  • This is a progressive nursing assistant role with increasing responsibility for nursing care planning and an opportunity to practice in a family centered environment.
  • Hours of the Clinic: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 7:30am-6:00pm, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:30am-9:00pm & Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am-3:30pm.
  • Shifts are a mix of 8, 10 and 12 hours.
  • Location: 9 Hope Avenue, Waltham, MA 02453
To qualify, you must have:
  • 1-year CA experience, CNA certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation.
  • A HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • The ability to: exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain hospital policies and relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work on a team.
  • Availability to work 4 shifts in a 6-week period.
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
