Classification: Contractor Role, up to 30 hours per week

Reports to: Senior Manager of Education Providers

Date: As soon as available. Open until filled

Pay: $40 per hour

The Role: Futuro Health seeks to expand the team with the addition of a Peer Support Specialist Coach (Contractor).

Essential Scope of Work:

The role serves as instructor-of-record and subject matter expert for the Peer Support Specialist training program and other training portfolios as necessary and the duties thereof. This includes monitoring gradebook and providing feedback to students on progress and communicating with students in the Learning Management System.

  • Respond to students enrolled in the program within 24 hours of inquiry received (48 hours if inquiry is received on official holidays assuming the instructor notified students in advance).
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness of the student journey, workflow, automated nudges/scripts/FAQs, academic policies, and operational procedures.
  • Develops and implements student retention and completion strategies.
  • Coordinates the process and orientation for onboarding students into the Learning Management System
  • Works with other Futuro Health divisions to facilitate recruitment towards numerical goals and min/preferred qualifications.
  • Monitors student progress, completion, and provides regular reporting on outcomes
  • Schedules and facilitates live instructional sessions using video web conferencing as needed
  • Schedules and conducts weekly office hours to support student success
  • Conducts remediation sessions as needed
  • Provides direction on next steps to sit for certification exam
  • Facilitates certification exam review
  • Develops contingencies for enrollment as needed.
  • Schedules course offerings in accordance with recruitment flow
  • Attends standing all-employee meetings and divisional meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 years in mental health industry experience with training experience preferred or 3 years’ experience with training as a peer support specialist
  • Have been self-identified as having lived experience of recovery from mental illness or substance use disorder, either as a consumer of recovery services or as the parent, caregiver, or family member of a consumer of recovery services.
  • Ability to monitor and recommend improvement strategies for program outcomes.
  • Student centric mindset
  • Must be able to work with an agile mindset and be flexible.
  • Good interpersonal skills are demonstrated by the ability to relate, establish, and cultivate respectful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent personal judgment when handling student engagement and communications.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to get things done through teamwork in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience effectively working independently, remotely, virtually and as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools including Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, Zoom or Teams, and databases.
  • Ability to learn new software as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Experience with student support services
  • Strong analytical skills as demonstrated by the ability to assess information and evidence and act strategically.
  • Effective meeting management skills including setting agendas and facilitating meetings.

Education: Candidate must have training as a Community Health Worker or Peer Support Specialist or relevant field of study, or 3 years equivalent related work experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have supervisory responsibility over staff. May require managing contractors or vendors.

Work Environment/Travel:

This is a role that can be performed remotely and there may be less than 10% travel requirement. All contractors will provide their own equipment.
