The Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) has been providing quality treatment services to men and women struggling with addiction since 1966. SCADD is able to provide a continuum of treatment services, licensed by the State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health. We provide High-Intensity Residential Treatment, Low-Intensity Residential Treatment, Outpatient & Intensive Outpatient, Withdrawal Management (formerly referred to as Detox) Medication Management, and Recovery Housing. About the program:
SCADD’s Withdrawal Management (formerly referred to as Detox) program is a medically monitored withdrawal management and evaluation program delivered by medical and nursing professionals and enhanced by skilled clinicians and technicians. The services are delivered under a defined set of physician-monitored protocols. Twenty-four-hour nursing observation, medical monitoring, and treatment are available on-site. Counseling and case management services are available on-site seven days per week.
Position Summary: SCADD is seeking a full-time compassionate Peer Support Driver who will provide one-to-one client engagement through activities including coordination and transportation to wrap around services according to individual needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for clients at all times.
- Operates company vehicles in a safe manner and in full compliance with State law at all times.
- Maintains an acceptable driving record to retain this role.
- Transports clients to appointments and treatment facilities when needed.
- Maintains vehicles in a safe and clean manner according to the established Preventative Maintenance schedule.
- Schedules and arranges for periodic service on all vehicles.
- Completes weekly mileage and fuel reports for vehicles.
- Manage/coordinate any medical, behavioral, emergency, or facility problems in a quick and efficient manner, notifying the proper authority as needed.
- Assist clients with self-advocacy to facilitate linkage, communication, and improved continuity of care;
- May provide the additional non-clinical hours of weekly programming.

Requirements:Self-identified as a person in recovery.
High school or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Acceptable driving record with no or minimal infractions required. Recovery Coach Certification must be obtained by one of the state-approved certification boards.
