Job Title: Dental Hygienist
Reports to: Lead Dental Assistant

SuperKids Dentistry is a leading pediatric dental practice with 5 offices in the vicinity of Maryland/Virginia. Our Founder, Dr. Ben Liu started the practice 9 years ago and since then we have become a leading provider of pediatric dental care.

Summary:
We are seeking a Dental Hygienist in our Rockville , MD office. This is a non-exempt position, reporting to the Lead Dental Assistant. The Hygienist works with the Dentist to meet the pediatric oral needs of patients.
The responsibilities of the Dental Hygienist include:
Responsibilities:
- Patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure and pulse
- Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth
- Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
- Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;
(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
- Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health
- Making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs)
- Performing documentation and office management activities
Education:
High School Diploma
Must be a certified Hygienist in the State of Maryland
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $52.00 - $57.00 per hour
