Role Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure that the receiving, picking, packing, and shipping of all Inbound and Outbound freight is processed effectively and efficiently. The Warehouse Supervisor responsibilities include planning and directing all phases of the Inbound and Outbound processes, identifying "best methods", and developing/implementing updated processes to achieve increasing success toward specified metrics at the Parts Distribution Center (PDC).

Role Responsibilities:

Operational - 45% of the time
• Oversees inbound and outbound processes as well as manpower planning to ensure efficient and accurate receipt of inventory and delivery of product to customer
  • Oversees the claims, core and factory returns, and buyback processes from the operational perspective to ensure compliance with the company policies and procedures while also completing the appropriate documentation
  • Respond to dealer inquiries regarding parts orders, tracking information, quality, and general PDC questions
  • Act as a liaison between the dedicated carrier and the PDC to resolve issues
  • Ensure all Outbound orders are properly classified and shipping papers are created
  • Conduct regular Layered Audits on the Inbound/Outbound processes and communicate findings to warehouse employees and management staff
  • Assist with the Inbound/Outbound process training
  • Conduct monthly review sessions with employees regarding their quality, productivity, attendance, and safety performance
• Maintains and submits records of employee attendance, verifies information, and reports to the site payroll administrator
  • Maintains employee training plans, certifications, and other pertinent workplace documentation
  • Works with the Outbound, Inbound, and Inventory Leads to achieve daily objectives, examines and identifies best methods, suggests process improvements, and implements updated procedures
  • Investigates billing/Outbound errors relating to parts distribution for the Finance Team
  • Traces possible stocking or receipt errors and warehouse refusals, and reconciles inventory discrepancies and location assignments to ensure maximum quality of available parts and service
  • Provides training for each team member and ensures that they perform duties in compliance with established quality procedures, safety requirements, and all Standard Work documentation.
  • Assists the Warehouse Operations Manager in contacting dealers, liaison between dealers and carriers to resolve all conflicts that may arise from freight loss or damage claims, contacts any on-going suppliers, reviews packing and shipments, and takes appropriate actions to ensure dealer satisfaction
  • Evaluates carrier routings and relations, operating efficiencies, modes of transportation, procedures, timelines, fiscal and operational objectives
  • Works with the Outbound Lead to group deliveries and create Goods Issue transfer orders
  • Reports all packaging concerns to the appropriate personnel in a timely fashion
  • Coordinates repacking for Inbound part numbers when appropriate
  • Processes scrap in concert with scrap vendors, executes inventory scraps, location reports, location management projects, and other procedures to maintain a current scrap inventory status in accordance with environmental regulations
  • Arranges and conducts disposal of hazardous waste materials according to environmental regulations
  • Reviews the buyback schedule and works with the Returns Administrator to maintain a steady flow of work providing an increased level of dealer service

Supervisory – 45% of the time
  • Coaches team members to be motivated and engaged regarding achievement of efficiency and accuracy targets
  • Acts as a change agent by modeling desired behaviors, promoting two-way communication, sharing best practices, serving as first point of conflict resolution on process questions, and cultivating a culture of feedback between team members and management
  • Promotes an atmosphere where employee contributions are valued and considered an integral part of providing exceptional service to customers
  • Resolves employee conflict in line with company guidelines and policies and confers with HR when necessary
  • Works with other PDC Operations to ensure they are in compliance with Health and Safety Legislation. Ensures that all safety, HazMat, and housekeeping procedures are developed, implemented, followed, and reviewed periodically for effectiveness
  • Ensure process discipline by conducting audits and work observations
  • Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and presents department performance to PDC Manager as required; including operational performance and budget performance. Recommends solutions to variances as necessary
  • Examines current warehouse methods, identifies best methods, suggests process improvements, and implements updated processes and procedures within the warehouse functions, in cooperation with Lead persons and other warehouse staff
  • Prepares, monitors, and takes action to ensure that operational budgets for direct area of responsibility are achieved
  • Schedules employee vacations within the department while maintaining a continuous level of service to our customers


Strategic – 10% of the time
  • Works in concert with the PDC Manager with short and long term planning, budgeting, expense control, and successful implementation of overall PDC business plan
  • Monitors the effectiveness of preventive maintenance activity toward safety and operational goals in conjunction with Facility Engineer


Years of Experience:

  • 5 + years of experience at a distribution or warehouse facility
  • 3+ years of supervisory/leadership experience in a warehouse setting

Education (Required):

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Education (Desired):

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in establishing and holding employees accountable to specified KPIs

Specialized Skills (Desired):

  • 3+ years of experience at a PDC or RDC
  • Knowledge of Dealer Parts Operations
  • Practical experience and good working knowledge of SAP
  • Thorough knowledge of TekRF transactions and systems processing

Work Flexibility:

  • Available to work overtime as needed
