Single, disabled mother caring for a disabled kid seeks experienced prep cook in Maplewood/N St Paul.

Seeking assistance with cooking in my non-smoking, scent-free, pet-free, home. I need help with meal preparation because fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis make it painful and difficult. The position doesn't require professional training, but experience in how to make meals from scratch and general home-cooking knowledge, including baking, is required. All meals must be gluten free/dairy free, so most ingredients are made at home from scratch, including spice mixes and sauces.

Some meals include:

• taco bowls
• spaghetti with meat sauce
• burgers
• broccoli bread
• warm and cold salads
• vegetable prep in summer for winter use
• stews and soups
• pie crusts and desserts on occasion.

Small batch prep and cooking for multiple meals. Prep for stews and soups in colder weather. Assistance with on site food storage and cleanup required. Some shopping on the way in can be helpful.

Must be able to register as a PCA with Accra and pass a state background check & fingerprint. Must be reliable to come when you are scheduled to work.

NOTE: Employee must be comfortable working in a home with a special needs child since the client is the full time caregiver of one. You may expect a reply to confirm we received your application and be ready to provide references we can contact. The client manages all functional aspects of employment: interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, etc. Accra Home Care handles technical aspects of employment: employment applications and processing HR paperwork, background checks, providing paychecks, etc. Once approved by the client and cleared by Accra, the employee is eligible to work for other Accra clients as well.
