JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION: Payroll Support Center Representative (Job ID: 26271)

DURATION: 3 months temp to perm | 40hr/week | M-F

PAY RATE: $22/hr on W2

LOCATION: (hybrid – combination of onsite & WFH at Irving, TX - They need to be able to go into the Las Colinas (Irving, Texas) office at least once to twice a week depending on the work schedule.

JOB SUMMARY (PURPOSE OF JOB):

  • The Payroll Support Center Representative provides resolution to payroll inquiries from employees and other business partners using payroll knowledge, experience, and expertise with minimal supervision.
  • These inquires come in the form of phone calls, tickets, and emails.
  • Resolutions should be given to employees based on payroll knowledge and policy knowledge.
  • Inquiries outside of Tier 2 expertise will be forwarded to the appropriate teams for resolution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 65%: Investigate and resolve Payroll issues received through phone calls, tickets, and emails, using critical analysis and problem solving. Able to apply relevant laws, policies, and best practice to reach conclusions and resolve the issue with the predetermined SLA while using the highest level of customer service skills.
  • 25% Determine appropriate department, resource, or team to route inquiries that cannot be resolved by the Payroll Support Center alone. Take ownership of the case in assigning the case appropriately and follow up as needed.
  • 5% For cases being forwarded/reassigned for resolution ensure all required documentation and details are included within the case (Sales Force).
  • 5% Assist in updating and creating reference documentation for other departments and employees pertaining to the Payroll Departments processes, policies and procedures are updated on an ongoing basis.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES):

Education/Training:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Advanced education preferred, but not required.

Business Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years of payroll experience.
  • Experience in call center/support center role preferred.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

General:

  • Experienced and fully competent in payroll best practices and is proficient in specific areas (i.e. garnishments, unions, benefits, taxes) with moderate guidance.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and taxes.
  • Ability to complete work assignments independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to enter and validate information accurately.
  • Ability to deal sensitive and confidential material.
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a heavy volume fast paced environment and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Receptive to coaching and instruction from management.
  • Ability to adapt and remain positive during changes to processes and working conditions.
  • Ability to identify and communicate process improvements and develop resolution.

Knowledge:

  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
  • Working and technical knowledge of Workday, Kronos, and ADP garnishments and banking.

Communication:

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate needs/suggestions in a positive constructive manner.
  • Strong professional communication skills in listening, verbalization, and writing.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions on assigned work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management internally and externally.
  • Ability to present and communicate to internal and external business partners.
