We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Payroll Specialist II!

The Payroll Specialist III is responsible for processing an accurate and timely payroll which involves multiple pay frequencies, companies, entities and state jurisdictions.

The Payroll Specialist III is responsible for processing an accurate and timely payroll, which involves multiple pay frequencies, companies, entities, and state jurisdictions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees payroll activities such as processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls.
  • Interpret day-to-day business objectives and preparation /execution operations of the payroll.
  • Lead payroll staff by training, coaching, and mentoring the processing team, and overseeing the payroll process ensuring a high level of accuracy and timely distribution of payroll
  • Provide support for system upgrades including Oracle, KRONOS and varying alternate timekeeping systems.
  • Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll tax issues.
  • Partners with Tax and Finance regarding incentive, bonuses, and other payments.
  • Partners with Operations and HR teams to troubleshoot issues with payroll administrations and determine reason for the problem, correct any related mistakes and change processes to mitigate future risk.
  • Monitors Wage and Hour issues to remain in compliance with FLSA.
  • Research and resolves payroll issues.
  • Ensure SOX Compliance for the payroll processes, including documentation of written payroll procedures and controls.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes while maintaining and updating documenting procedures.
  • Partner with IT department to manage user test system improvements, including automation of manual processes.
  • Audit and review of Personnel Action Forms (PAF) and Other Compensation Forms (OCF) to ensure timely and accurate processing.

  • Experience with processing multiple companies, multiple tax jurisdictions; multiple time and attendance systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment and support of multiple demands.
  • Very strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrates ability in leadership or managing others.
  • Strong interpersonal, project management and mentoring skills. Ability to make decisions in a rapidly growing, professional, service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and take appropriate action.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting from four-year College or University
  • 3 or more years of related payroll experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Healthcare industry experiences with complex payroll structures is a plus.
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors processing team
  • Manage the payroll process ensuring a high level of accuracy and timely distribution of payroll
