In this role, you assist with weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly Payroll for all of Jacksons Companies. You shift between competing priorities while staying organized and focused on the task at hand. You work hard to deliver phenomenal customer service while working collaboratively with an outstanding team.

What will I do as a Payroll Specialist?Here are just some of the things you will do in this role: • Prepare payroll checks for employees who do not have direct deposit.• Assist in the preparation of Quarterly tax filings and payments.• Collect banking information for direct deposit setup and initiate deposits on paydays.• Detect and process issues that impact payroll.• Troubleshoot system issues and test new integrations.• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concern.• Gather information on hours worked for each employee.• Calculate pay with the correctly, incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a computer system.• Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed.• Assist in Payroll review for multiple pay groups and refer issues to appropriate departments.• Additional duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for: • High School Diploma/GED with an Associate Degree in Accounting or a related field of study preferred.• 2+ years of experience in a payroll and/or HR related role.• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with several priorities while being flexible to shift priority.• A history of working with others to achieve shared goals while taking responsibility for individual actions achieving consistent results.• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to anticipate issues before they arise, and proactively suggest big-picture solutions.• A proven ability to stay calm and confident under pressure, while delivering extraordinary customer service.• Demonstrated strong written and verbal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
