The Payroll Specialist will be required to work in a payroll capacity for commissioned only sales force of 2500 insurance agents in all 50 states. In this role, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate commission payment to our employees and independent contractors. The individual will also interact with Combined Insurance agents, managers and divisional staff as needed. Must be able to clearly explain all payroll issues both orally and in writing. The successful candidate will work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Complete weekly payroll processing for multiple pay groups in Ultimate Payroll (UKG) payroll system
Maintain personnel records and payroll deductions in payroll system
Process reimbursements and taxable fringe benefits
Process garnishments, such as, creditor liens, support orders and tax levies
Audit employee changes via daily import files into UKG to ensure successful transmission. Escalate and resolve failed data transactions when needed.
Analyze weekly benefit imports and exports and process adjustments as necessary
Create and distribute various employee notices by email and regular post mail
Review and respond to daily inquiries to the payroll & benefits mailbox in a timely manner
Ensure payroll issues are resolved and/or escalated timely
Create and maintain process documentation for existing and new processes
Provide support for all UKG new user setup, password resets and login questions/issues
Create and distribute weekly reports to internal and external clients
Create ad-hoc reports as requested
Perform additional responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
Skills
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail, analytical and ability to identify and resolve issues
Excellent communication skills
Self-directed and motivated to succeed and exceed expectations
Education and Experience
At least 1 year of professional office experience
Previous experience in Accounting or Payroll preferred
Previous experience with Ultimate Payroll (UKG) experience preferred
