JOB SUMMARY: Provides administrative payroll support specific to assigned Region. Performs a variety of regionalized and centralized payroll functions which include but are not limited to monthly and weekly union dues reports, garnishment setups, answering garnishment interrogatories, termination letters, and responding to employee's garnishment questions. Assist with research requests for PTO, vacation, and sick accrual plans. Helps with other tasks as needed such as employment verifications and researching unclaimed garnishment checks. Provides quality customer service support to assigned Regions, District Offices, and employees, researching, and resolving most questions. Assist other regional payroll staff and Supervisor as needed.

  • All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, associates are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.
  • Runs monthly Union Reports for all East Coast Regions and prepares file for multiple staff to pull their regions unions. Submits reports to specific contacts in the District Offices to handle funding to the unions for assigned region or state, AL, NY, and NJ.
  • Runs weekly 401K Union reports for specific unions in DC and NY. Submits reports to specific contacts in the District Office to handle funding.
  • Review and process vacation research request submitted from field offices by reconciling employee vacation accrual amounts in payroll system against hours worked and plan type utilizing both Legacy System, Oracle and WFM.
  • Assist with various Vacation, PTO and Sick projects for clients and union plans to perform research and provide a summary of recalculated accruals for any necessary payments and adjustments.
  • Processes activities related to wage assignments, including, state and federal tax levies, bankruptcies, student loans, child supports and other garnishments within assigned Region.
  • Answer garnishment interrogatories for specific states including providing amounts withheld to the Courts and Attorney's or Plaintiffs.
  • Prepares weekly garnishment check list to pull checks needed for interrogatories for all East Coast states and other staff handling specific regions/states.
  • Prepare and process termination letters to agencies notifying them of employees with garnishment and their employment status.
  • Assist with various projects related to garnishments, unclaimed check research, gathering W9's for 1099 reporting and answering employee's questions.
  • Assist with other areas within Payroll such as employment verifications and W2 requests or answering questions from employees or District Offices.
  • Communicates with field offices and associates to respond to questions regarding payroll issues.
  • Assist Supervisor with maintaining written procedures for job related functions.
  • Provides quality customer service to the assigned Region.
  • Additional duties and or projects including filing as needed and assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience and fast paced customer experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data; interpret day-to-day business objectives, preparation and execution of operational practices and work programs.
  • Results oriented individual with strong customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide positive influence and feedback.
  • Adapt to conflicting deadlines and priorities established by company demands.



Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or equivalent.
  • Three years plus experience or equivalent in payroll or accounting.
  • Experience in a shared services environment and solid understanding of payroll cycles.
  • Experience with Oracle HCM Cloud preferred.
  • Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing)
  • Thorough understanding of standard office procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mathematical concepts including computation of rates, ratios, percentages, averages, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
  • Ability to cross-train and learn other department activities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various PC applications including Internet Browsers, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or other database software packages.
  • Ability to write original correspondence.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and handle work tasks or projects responsibly.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.
  • Must effectively prioritize needs and work well with others.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues.
