Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Compensation and/or Benefits Manager, the incumbent is responsible for processing payroll and compiling payroll data to prepare related reports.

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Golden Nugget and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Consistently deliver positive, courteous and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors and fellow employees.
  • Responsible for preparation and completion of payroll, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Preparation of reports for distribution and/or payment of payroll taxes, garnishment, payroll deductions, child support, health benefits, tax deduction, etc.
  • Review payroll activities with Human Resources managers, finance managers, and other required department leaders as appropriate.
  • Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
  • Compile payroll data such as hours worked, toke/tip rates, commissions and amounts to be withheld such as required deductions, taxes and insurance.
  • Prepare computer input forms, enter data into computer files or compute wages and deductions and post to payroll records.
  • Review wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  • Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage and loan payments for employees.
  • Record data concerning employee transfers, unpaid leaves of absence and usage of paid personal time off (PTO).
  • Assist in the preparation of tax and management reports.
  • Submit direct deposit and/or paycard files for transmission.
  • Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
  • Three (3) years of computerized payroll experience.
  • Experience processing payroll for a large employer (1,000 plus employees).
  • Previous gaming or hospitality experience strongly preferred.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have solid decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal communication skills are required. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment. Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationships with all individuals. Ability to work occasional overtime and irregular hours. Must be proficient with personal computers, payroll software systems such as Oracle and Kronos, and Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
