THIS IS HANDS ON, ON SITE POSITION

Summary

The Payroll/Benefits Manager provides support to The Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center, Inc., Human Resources TEAM that includes assisting in employee onboarding, benefits, compensation administration, policy interpretation, employee file maintenance and HR communications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides support to all functional areas of the Human Resources Department with primary focus on payroll and benefits


Process and submits to Joseph P. Addabbo’s designated carriers - health, dental and life insurance applications for new hires and terminated employees.

Keep records of benefits plans (Health and Dental) participation such as additions, deletions, plan changes (single to parent child to couple to family – or vice versa) and periodically check and cross-reference with payroll to ensure accuracy of employee’s coverage. Both department records should mirror each other.


Process recommendations to hire and newly hired employees by entering the applicant / employee’s information in Human Resources Information System (HRIS). The information to be entered is personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, termination date and reason for leaving.

Update employee files and the Human Resources Information Systems database – relevant personnel actions (promotion, transfers, termination, leave of absence, etc.), and provide information for payroll and other uses.

Manage and implement all benefit programs, including health & welfare, closed pension plan and 401(k). He or she will be the primary contact for administration and ensuring compliance with all federal, state guidelines and regulations.


Minimum Qualifications Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree plus 2 to 3 years HR experience.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally, tactfully, and with the utmost diplomacy at all times, treating all candidates with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Must have a high level of energy and a strong desire to provide excellent customer service and getting things done with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; can build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure, communicate confidently with all levels in the organization and juggle conflicting priorities with ease.
  • Ability to work independently and be a team player.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce / Time and Attendance (strongly preferred).
  • Well-organized, efficient and has a good sense of priorities.
  • A self-starter who leads by example and who is respected by staff.
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and Google Office.
  • Knowledge of local, state and Federal Employment laws and procedures.
  • SPHR/PHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
