The Payroll Associate will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of employee information and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, within an assigned company.

This position will work under the direction of the Payroll Supervisor.

Detailed Description:

  • Assist with payroll processes on a bi-weekly basis
  • Maintain payroll information by calculating and entering data
  • Calculate bonuses
  • Audit hours and bonus amounts
  • Enter and process all employee data necessary for processing timely payroll within the system
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer any employee payroll queries
  • Organize and maintain payroll records and reports in compliance with federal and state regulations and for easy access for auditing purposes
  • Process all mandated, court ordered deductions and process each within the dictated time frames
  • Create payroll check requests as needed
  • Audit system entries including time entered through Pason, Manual IADC sheets and acquiring Rig Managers approval of time
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of corporate payroll processing and systems
  • Knowledge of wage withholding orders
  • Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other people in and outside of the company
  • Sound decision making skills
  • Proficient in the use of computers and applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain Company and employee confidentiality at all times and handles sensitive employee information and protect Company proprietary information in an appropriate manner
  • Ability to follow instructions with a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic, fast paced office environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in Payroll
  • Understanding and experience using a 9 key calculator
  • Good math and accounting aptitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with Oracle software / payroll applications
  • Experience in the oilfield services industry

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
