Provide observation of patients requiring 1:1 or constant observation for safety under the direction of a licensed nurse.
Description:
- Provides 1:1 observation or video observation to patients as assigned per established guidelines.
- Contributes to the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic milieu, promptly reports safety concerns and pertinent observations to licensed nurse.
- Observes the patient(s) at all times and alerts the nursing staff to changes in patient behavior ensuring that the patient(s) is not left alone unless instructed differently by nursing staff.
- Report changes in patient behavior to licensed nurse (no hands-on care of patient).
- Report patient comfort care needs (toileting, etc.) to licensed nurse and/or Nursing Assistant II (no hands-on care of patient).
- Maintains precautionary measures for designated patients per established guidelines.
- Maintains an unobstructed view of assigned patient(s).
- Ensures that the patient's dignity is preserved.
- Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Basic Life Support Certification required
- CPI within 4 months of hire
