While some jurisdictions, including Maryland, permit the use of marijuana for medical purposes, marijuana continues to be classified as an illegal drug under the federal Controlled Substances Act. As a Patient Service Specialist you will:
- Register patients accurately with demographics and insurance information.
- Scan patient information documents i.e, Registration form, Meaningful Use
- Identify, reference, and apply insurance coverage and billing.
- Answer phones using proper telephone etiquette.
- Present financial policies and arrangements accurately to patients.
- Collect co-payments and verify insurance coverage.
- Manage cash, checks and credit card payments.
- Check out patients accurately by checking all information entered during
- Work as a team to complete projects and ensure positive patient experience.
- Willing to travel between outpatient imaging offices.
Qualifications include:
- High school graduate.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and EMR.
- 2+ years in healthcare setting.
- Excellent customer service.
- Ability to work in fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy and positive
- Bilingual Spanish a plus.
