Shawnee Health – Patient Registration Specialist II

Shawnee Health is seeking a part time PRS II for our Shawnee Health Same Day Carbondale office. This position reports directly to the patient registration specialist IV and/or PRS III-Team Lead.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for scheduling referrals and documenting all patient interactions in the appropriate location within the practice management/EHR systems.
  • Promptly and professionally answers, screens, and processes medical service requests and telephone inquiries with strict adherence to confidentiality policies.
  • Accurately and efficiently checks patients in; checking insurance/Medicaid eligibility, collecting co-pays, updating all information into practice management system.
  • Collects and enters patient intake information into the appropriate area of the practice manage system with accurate information.
  • Refers patients to the appropriate staff, according to patient request per established protocols. i.e. triage, medical records, patient care coordinators, case management and ACA staff.
Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred
Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience and/or applicable SHS training preferred.

COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory condition of employment. Absent an approved exemption/accommodation, all employees must be fully vaccinated by receiving both doses of a two-dose vaccine series (Pfizer or Moderna) or one dose of the single-dose vaccine (Janssen) at least fourteen (14) days prior to or on their first day of work. If not already vaccinated, new hires cannot begin work until they: (1) are fourteen (14) days post one dose of the single-dose vaccine (Janssen); (2) are fourteen (14) days post second dose of a two-dose vaccine series (Pfizer or Moderna); or (3) receive an approved exemption/accommodation. Employees who refuse COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with this mandate absent an approved exemption/accommodation will be considered to have voluntarily resigned from employment or, if an individual has not yet started employment, their offer of employment will be withdrawn. Shawnee Health Service reserves the right to not offer employment to unvaccinated individuals if staffing needs cannot accommodate a delayed start date.
