Location: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore, MD 21201Category: Clerical and Administrative Support
Schedule: Day Shift
Patient Registrar is responsible for:
Obtaining information from patients to ensure payment for all services.
Greets patients upon admission to CPP, verifies demographics in Meditech, obtains insurance cards and identification, collects co-pays and has patients sign appropriate billing forms.
Education/Work Experience:
Work requires a high school level of educational development and 6 months of previous experience.
Shift:
Full Time (40 hours per week)
Day Shift; weekend work not required
Non-Exempt
Knowledge/Skills:
No certification, registration, or licensure required.
Work requires the analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine.
Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain medical center policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when
dealing with patients, visitors and/or medical center employees. More sensitive situations may be referred to others as appropriate.
