Job description

Responsible for the daily completion of both claim edit, denial and no response billing functions for timely follow up. Handles internal and external questions to completion. Understands both paper and electronic claims and claims processing. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

· Verifies accuracy of billing data and revises any errors. Ensures all claims are transmitted and rejections are worked timely.

· Performs ongoing monitoring of accounts worked to ensure maximization of collection dollars by providing appropriate follow up and documenting actions taken.

· Reduce the number of past due accounts through timely follow-up.

· Reduce the number of past due accounts through escalation and claim resolution.

· Analyze, audit and resolve claims outstanding, denied or incorrectly paid.

· Process and follow up on payer denials as needed.

· Work all insurance denials via paper or electronically in work queues

· Monitors and processes all assigned electronic and/or paper claim status i.g. claim edit and no response work queues.

· Provide feedback to management regarding payer issues, underpayments and denial trends.

· Maintains knowledge of and follows policies, procedures, Codes of Conduct and all Federal and state rules and regulations related to the position.

· Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

· 1+ years of insurance follow-up including working knowledge of the appeals resolution process.

· Ability to read and interpret EOB’s

· Working knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT coding, billing and collection practices.

· General office knowledge (Microsoft Excel and Word)

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Proper phone and email etiquette

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
