Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Effectively supervise employees within assigned unit/department.
  • Supervise, evaluate, authorize payroll; coordinates staff work schedules. Provides leadership support and oversight to staff within assigned unit.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving all personnel time cards (Kronos); and ensures all timecard records are processed in a timely and accurate manner consistent with union contract. Monitors premium time utilization to ensure budget alignment.
  • Approves ordering of special supplies as needed. .
  • Is on call to cover 24/7 PAR areas, sharing duties with Patient Access Manager(s) and Director.
  • Maintains confidentiality – both patient and staff issues.
  • Perform mobile registration when necessary. Responsible for the accurate intake of patient demographics; obtaining reimbursable diagnosis/reason, verifying insurances for eligibility and obtaining of preauthorization of insurance provider as required. .
  • Obtain all necessary consents/signatures.
  • Communicate with patient by phone in advance for pre-registration, in order to schedule the patient.
  • Supports all Patient Access related workflows and effectively performs those duties as needed.
  • Conducts regular audits to ensure key performance metrics for regulatory compliance, data quality and Point-of-Service Collections are maintained.
  • Coordinate Meditech Patient Registration and Authorization Management training for new hire and refresher courses.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned by department Managers/Director.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with at least 3 - 5 years recent supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with hospital registration system. Demonstrated ability to function independently.
  • Possesses excellent decision-making and problem-resolution skills; demonstrated ability to supervise under pressure.
  • Previous participation in CQI or equivalent activities with demonstrated outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Meditech Patient Registration and Scheduling system
  • Strong keyboarding at 40 wpm and PC based computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook Power Point)
  • Demonstrated customer and staff satisfaction orientation and successful relationship-building.
  • Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Registration/Certification:

Related professional certifications preferred. (CHAM)
