Restorative Aide- Part-Time
5:00pm-9:00pm

Description of our Hospital:
Assurance Health System is a 23-bed, short-term inpatient geri-psychiatric hospital, that focuses on the mental health needs of our senior population. Our dedicated staff provides much needed, highly specialized, and compassionate psychiatric/medical care for our aging population. Our fast-growing health system provides treatment for an expansive patient population. We offer 1:8 CNA/MHT patient ratio, competitive pay, weekend shift differentials as well as an evening shift differential, and tuition reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patient in transferring, walking and mobility, dressing and grooming, eating, and swallowing.
- Assist the patient with range of motion, proper turning and positioning in bed and chair.
- Incorporates training and skill practice activities which include repetition, physical or verbal cueing and task segmentation.
- Measures and records height and weight
- Calculates and records weight gain or loss
- Calculates and records fluid intake and output
- Cares for the patient’s room cleanliness
- Recognizes abnormal changes in body functioning and the importance of reporting such changes to a supervisor.
- Makes routine rounds on each assigned patient every hour
- Assist with eating and hydration, uses proper feeding techniques.
- Calculates and records percentage of meal eaten
- Meet patients’ mental health and social service needs
- Is aware of developmental tasks associated with the aging process
- Knows how to respond to patients’ behaviors
- Allows patient to make personal choices
- Provides and reinforces other behavior consistent with the patients’ dignity
- Uses the patient’s assessment and the plan of care
