DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Part-Time Receptionist position within The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity.


This is a part-time, benefits eligible position. The general schedule will be 25 hours a week (0.625 FTE):

Monday, 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 7:30 am - 12:30 pm

JOB SUMMARY

The receptionist for the School of Divinity (The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity) supports the function of welcoming visitors and facilitating other communications to the personnel of the school (fax, incoming packages, telephone transfers).


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Receive and direct calls and visitors, manage messages, packages and faxes


2. Assist with Guest Services – checking email, assigning rooms upon approval, printing door signs and preparing keys and parking info, obtaining required LOGS form


3. Hire, train, schedule and supervise student workers


4. Open and close kitchen daily including cleaning and coffee ordering.


5. Initiate and coordinate community gatherings


6. Order occasional floral arrangements for chapel and name tags for new hires


7. Schedule meetings and events in conference rooms and chapel and print and post weekly or monthly schedules


8. Track internal onboarding tasks of new hires


9. Manage sale of stamps


10. Assist with large mailings and with forwarding mail especially during JTerm and Summer, collecting forwarding addresses and making labels

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or the equivalent
  • One year of clerical experience
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or eligible for legally required exemption such as a medical or religious reason
  • The successful candidate will:Have enthusiasm for the vision and mission of The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity, namely,
    • Vision: The Church on fire with the Holy Spirit, a world transformed in Jesus Christ.
    • Mission: To provide integrated, Catholic formation for those called to serve as priests, deacons or lay leaders in their local Church.
    • Have a strong background in and/or knowledge of the Catholic Church, with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of the Church and full assent to all magisterial teaching.

Hiring will be contingent up the successful completion of the Archdiocese of Saint of Saint Paul-Minneapolis’ “E3” Requirements of Safe Environment Training (see https://safe-environment.archspm.org/essential-3/).
