Job Summary:

The Payroll Administrator will run the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Along with payroll processing, this role will act as the Human Resources assistant for Browns Living.

Looking for someone to work 24 hours per week (Mondat-Friday, flexable schedule).

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains, and reviews payroll processing system (ADP) to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, child Support, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates, as directed by the Human Resource Manager.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors, if applicable.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
  • Verify Timecards with Managers
  • Answer employee questions related to payroll
  • Keep record of sign-on and referral bonuses
  • Assist with W-4 & WT-4 changes and updates
  • Manages 401k contributions and files documents
  • Upload and record monthly benefit invoices
  • Assist with payroll related reports as needed.
  • Complete verifications of wage and employment.
  • Additional payroll and HR duties as needed and as applicable.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Moderate knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Working knowledge of ADP workforce now or relative HRIS system/Payroll processing systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in payroll or related field
  • Exceptional time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Professional manner and a strong ethical code.
  • Ability to multitask, self-motivated and strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Certification or degree in Accounting, Payroll or related field required.
  • At least one years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
