Langan is seeking a Part-time On Call Environmental Field Technician to join its collaborative team at either our White Plains, NY, or NYC locations. This individual will assist in performing asbestos abatement project monitoring and inspection projects of varying sizes. Possession of a strong technical education, field experience, professional demeanor, and desire to learn is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with conducting various types of environmental monitoring (water, air, asbestos, lead) using basic field instruments;
• Assemble and maintain field equipment and systems; inspect equipment, troubleshoot as necessary;
• Perform basic calculations and computer data entry; and
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of prior asbestos-related experience;
• Ability to read and understand project specifications, drawings and plans, and hazardous materials inspection reports;
• Understanding of New York State, New York City, and Federal Asbestos Regulations;
• Current NY asbestos project monitor, air sampling technician, and inspector licenses;
• Reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing;
• Flexibility and ability to work during regular business hours as well as during evenings and weekends, as needed;
• Ability to travel for projects outside of the New York/Metro area;
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task with field and office work;
• Demonstrated ability to work alone and in a team environment;
• NYSDOL Air Technician/Project Monitor required;
• NYSDOL Certified Asbestos Inspector License required; and
• OSHA HAZWOPER Certification preferred.

Base Hourly Range: $25.00/hr - $35.00/hr. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
