COVID vaccine will be required unless medical / religious exemption. Seeking a Part Time Medical Biller for our Pediatric Office in Washingtonville, NY. Schedule will be Monday-Friday 8:30am-1:30pm. Pay rate $19/hr-$20/hr negotiable based on experience. Billing Experience required.

• Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Boston Children's Health Physicians in its efforts to provide quality service and patient satisfaction
• Demonstrate continuing education by completing all required annual trainings, as stated in the Training Curriculum, including but not limited to care coordination, population health management and self-management support techniques.
• Complete annual corporate compliance training
• Understand and effectively communicate HIPAA compliance, corporate compliance and client confidentiality
• Ensure and/or remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulation

Essential Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify that insurance information in MBA and EMR are both correct, up to date, and valid
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Verify deductibles
• Go through the next day's insurances and balances
  • Place an itemized list of balances in the ebill so that the person at checkout is aware of the balance
  • Make spreadsheets for pre-booked and â??day ofâ?? appointments and make sure to keep the information up to date
  • Assist with referrals and prior-authorizations
• Collect copayments and payments for balances
  • Apply payments to the balances in MBA starting with the oldest balances first and moving to present
• Verify PCP for insurances that require a PCP
• Assist with answering phones when others are occupied
• Assist with covering check in and check out during lunches, vacations, and other emergency

• Provide care in a patient-centered manner
• Attend medical home meetings
• Participate in pre-visit planning
• Demonstrate excellence in both internal and external customer service
• Other duties as assigned
