Job description
- 20 hours per week
- Monday-Friday
- Criminal Background check and drug screen are required.

- Cleans building interiors: vacuums, sweeps, damp and dust mops, waxes, and uses buffers on floors.
- Washes windows and walls, woodwork, and venetian blinds as needed.
- Cleans and restocks supplies in rest rooms.
- Dusts and/or polishes desks, chairs, tables, shelves, and other furniture and equipment.
- Handles and stores supplies.
- Prepares quantities of cleaning materials by appropriately mixing correct amounts from bulk containers.
- Closes and locks building after meetings when required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment;
- Ability to use supplies and equipment economically and efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Ability to read and comply with Safety Data Sheets.
- Ability to mix cleaning compounds safely and in accordance with manufacturer’s directions.
- Ability to complete required safety training.
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time. Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate heavy buffing equipment. Ability to climb, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time. Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals and compounds.
Education equivalent to High School Diploma or GED and some experience in the general cleaning of buildings preferred. Must have a valid Virginia Driver’s License.
