Job description

This position involves direct supervision and wellbeing of inmates in the jail, ensures that all jail procedures are carefully followed and monitored. Resolves inmate complaints/requests within procedural guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.

Correctional officers are responsible for all jail operations which include, but are not limited to: handing out meals to inmates, dispensing medications to inmates, moving inmates to and from various activities in the jail. They are required to process inmates, release inmates, handle and create some legal documents. Correctional officers must be able to accurately enter information into inmate files, both on the computer and in a physical file. Correctional officers must have the ability to multi-task, good communication skills are necessary. Attention to detail is a major part of the job. Applicants must have basic computer skills and must be 18 years or older to apply with a valid drivers license. Applicants must be reliable and willing to work various shifts and be willing to fill in as needed.'
