Location: Mount Nebo State Park, Dardanelle, AR

This position assists in the management of Mount Nebo State Park. Job duties include supervision of park staff, completing performance appraisals, preparing and approving work schedules, maintaining performance files and participating in planning and development. This position prepares and manages the park budget, assists with financial records, prepares bids; purchases supplies and equipment, maintains inventory and creates reports as needed. Applicant will have regular contact with the public and will occasionally give presentations about the natural, cultural, and historical aspects of the park and surrounding area. Strong communication and public relations skills are necessary. This position also directs and performs the duties of a certified law enforcement officer and thus requires certification as a law enforcement officer through the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy within one year of employment. A criminal background check is required. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and have the ability to traverse rough terrain.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The formal educational equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in park administration, parks and recreation management, natural science, recreation administration, or a related field: plus two years of experience in park management, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
