Dauphin County Parks & Recreation is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Park Manager at Fort Hunter Park. The main objective of the employee in this role is to direct and administer the operation and maintenance of Fort Hunter Park and Fort Hunter Conservancy, including buildings, grounds, and collections. This individual manages the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the park. They recruit, instruct, and direct a staff of full and/or part-time employees and an important corps of volunteers. The employee in this position is responsible for but not limited to performing the following essential functions: Administers the day-to-day operations of park and collections; supervises the park staff and handles any related personnel issues; works with the Director to formulate Fort Hunter Park goals, policies, programs, procedures, and planning instruments; develops liaisons with local and regional educational institutions, plans and assists in the mounting, narrating and execution of exhibits; develops outside sources of income including grants; leads in oversight of educational programs; acts as a department oversight and liaison to the Friends group, attending meetings and participating in events; assists Mansion Manager with operating, stocking, and staffing Museum shop, and establishing and maintaining associated financial records; assembles and conveys cash deposits; and performs monthly accounting, reports, and deposits of income.

The employee in this role is also responsible for but not limited to performing the following additional essential functions: interviews candidates for employment, orients new hires and counsels incumbents, as necessary; assists Director in preparation of annual budgets; prepares Friends of Fort Hunter and Board of Trustees for Fort Hunter budgets; schedules and sites regular and special programs, negotiates rental of park spaces establishing allowable uses and fees; disseminates policies governing uses of park; performs routine cleaning and ordering of building spaces; organizes and edits public relations materials including website; composes informational and developmental brochures for the park; works with the Friends of Fort Hunter to produce, edit, and publish the Friends Quarterly Newsletter and retains final editing responsibilities; works a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, as necessary; works with the Operations & Maintenance Manager, Director, and Board of Trustees for Fort Hunter (where applicable) to manage park building structures and natural resources; assists in planning, funding for, and accessing future construction, renovation, and maintenance projects; and performs all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Masters degree preferred.
• Four years' experience at similar institution.

• Attends meetings, training or in-services as required.
• Operates park equipment and vehicles as needed to perform job.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
