The Community Group
The Community Group (TCG) is a private, nonprofit organization creating opportunities through education since 1970. TCG manages a range of programs, including a network of early childhood and out-of-school time programs, a network of charter and district public schools, consulting and training programs, and a child care resource and referral program, Child Care Circuit.
Role
The paraprofessional will assist classroom teachers or principals, with duties regarding the students.
Duties
- Maintain order with the students assigned for supervision;
- Tutor students on lessons determined by the teacher;
- Help to maintain a positive classroom environment;
- Help to maintain order on the bus, if assigned;
- Monitor students for health problems, if assigned;
- Assist students with lessons and assignments in regular classrooms, if assigned;
- Assist teacher with organizational needs in the classroom;
- Maintain accurate records regarding students;
- Work as a member of the team with the teacher;
- Maintain confidentiality;
- Willing to obtain added training; and
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications
- Experience working with school-aged children;
- High School Diploma is required;
- Good people skills;
- Well organized;
- Ability to work as a member of the team;
- Some technology skills;
- Ability to work well with students; and
- Ability to manage student behavior.
Location:
Community Day Charter Public School campuses are located throughout the city of Lawrence, MA.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
