Responsibilities

  • In coordination with the teacher, provide small group intervention and small group remediated instruction for PreK students who are at risk of being or are below grade level.
  • Implement learning plans designed to build/strengthen pre-reading skills.
  • Conduct small group instruction/intervention for students who have similar needs.
  • Provide remedial instruction/intervention in pre-reading skills such as letter recognition and phonological awareness
  • Assist teachers in implementing and tracking the incorporation of student’s IEP goals into Tier 1 instruction.
  • Collect, track and report intervention/small group data
  • Assist in collecting data.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers and parents about student progress
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and Training:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent college credits.

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 Years experience working in PreK classroom with students with disabilities.
  • Experience providing small group instruction to students.
  • Demonstrated track record of working with classroom teachers to ensure student progress and success.
  • Knowledge of prereading skills for PreK students, specifically Phonemic awareness, and phonics
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
