SUMMARY:

• The hourly Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment in West Shore School District is $19 per hour
• The Paraprofessional position will work on all student days during the school calendar year, 6.5 OR 7 paid hours per day on full school days
• The Paraprofessional will support students individually or in small groups in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills

  • 1:1 Para (MDS classroom)

SECONDARY:

• Allen Middle School
  • Learning Support Para (classroom support)
• New Cumberland Middle School
  • Life Skills Para (classroom support)
• Cedar Cliff High School
  • Learning Support Para (classroom support)
• Red Land High School
  • Learning Support Para (classroom support)
  • Autistic Support Para
• West Shore Connect Program
  • Transition-age Para (working with 18-21 year old students who attend a local college)
    • Schedule: 8:15am - 3:15pm during the academic year

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directly support individuals with special needs at the direction of building Principals and classroom teacher
• Provide instructional, behavioral and/or physical assistance to an individual student or a small group of students. Including, but not limited to: the use of assistive technology, on-task prompting, facilitating social skills, toileting, and self-care skills
• Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress
• Collect daily data and document progress notes in a prescribed format for each session with the child/adolescent based on student needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma and completion of Paraprofessional competency training OR at least two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits) - preferred
• Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred
