Batesville is looking for a Paralegal to join our team for a hybrid position that primarily works remotely and periodically onsite at our headquarters in Batesville, IN. As a Paralegal you will assist with corporate governance, litigation management, and general ethics and compliance matters. Candidates who possess the skills and experience to fulfill a significant portion of those needed for the role and who are willing to gain expertise in the other aspects of the position are encouraged to apply.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in maintaining corporate organizational structure, organize and maintain hard copy and electronic record books and databases, and assist with formation and dissolution of legal entities and appointment of officers and directors.
  • Draft and maintain corporate organizational documents such as articles of organization, bylaws, minutes, written consents, stock certificates, and annual reports.
  • Prepare and coordinate the execution of resolutions and other documents effecting corporate action, including liaising with local counsel as appropriate.
  • Coordinate, prepare, file, and maintain documentation for domestic and foreign business licenses including qualifications, withdrawals, and other filings, as well as facilitating appropriate legal review as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining litigation and claims related files, legal hold administration, preparation of document productions, docketing of deadlines, and such other matters as necessary to assist in management of litigation and claims matters.
  • Assist in the administration of the ethics and compliance program, such as management of the intake and closing of ethics cases, preparation of reports and presentations of the key performance indicators, privacy program projects, and coordinate and prepare for ethics and compliance committee meetings.
  • Perform other assignments, strategic projects, or duties as needed, such as, due diligence, contract management, legal research, and creating PowerPoint presentations.
  • Prepare legal documents and business communications as needed.
  • Serve as a notary public (or willingness to become one).
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Basic Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a college or university in paralegal studies or similar degree or certification program preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience or combination of experience and education/certificate
  • Willingness to travel 2-3% as needed and to work onsite in Batesville, IN periodically.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Proficient in Corporate Governance – state filings for annual reports
  • Experience updating minute books.

Great to Haves:

  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment highly preferred
  • In house experience preferred, law firm experience acceptable
  • Flexible, collaborative team player, with a willingness to take on a variety of diverse projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and build strong partnerships with cross-functional team leaders.
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive matters and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exercises independent thinking and critically analyzes problems to come up with solutions.
