Northrop Grumman is seeking a mid-career to senior level paralegal (identified as a Paralegal 3 or 4 within Northrop Grumman) for an exciting opportunity to join our Northrop Grumman Space Sector and primarily support the Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) at the historic Space Park Campus located in Redondo Beach, California. The Paralegal will report to a Corporate Legal Director within Space Sector and support 3-4 attorneys, as well as occasional assignments across other Northrop Grumman Space Divisions plus corporate matters. The preferred candidate will be located at Northrop Grumman’s SSSD main campus in Redondo Beach, California, within the greater Los Angeles area. There is a potential for a hybrid work schedule (some days in office and some days working remotely) but this is not a 100% remote job as onsite support and interaction with team members is important for career success

Specifically, this position supports a broad range of duties and responsibilities in the rapidly growing space market involving both Government and commercial customers.

Roles and responsibilities of the Paralegal will include (but not be limited to) the following:

• Interfacing with various levels of management, other paralegals, employees, lawyers and outside parties.
• Conducting legal research.
• Supporting negotiation of NDAs and contract terms and conditions.
• Leading and supporting process improvements with corporate policies and procedures.
• Drafting letters.
• Assisting with all aspects of internal investigations and litigation.
• Preparing training materials, briefings and guidance documents.
• Preparing and managing firewalls documents and training.
• Navigating legal and corporate systems, tools, and databases.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

• High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a paralegal or in a legal related position in a law firm or corporate environment. College degree preferred.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:

• High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years’ experience as a paralegal or in a legal related position in a law firm or corporate environment. College degree preferred.

Additional Basic qualifications for both levels:

• Computer skills required include advanced expertise in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel), SharePoint (or equivalent), and intranet/internet proficiency.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to changes in processes.
• Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities, individuals and geographies.
• Quality writing ability with attention to detail and solid grammar and proofreading skills.
• Demonstrated oral communication skills with an ability to interact effectively across a large complex organization and with outside individuals.
• Experience using complex electronic databases, budget analysis and billing systems.
• Ability to execute tasks and projects independently.
• Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective, collaborative relationships with others.
• US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with a combination of these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Paralegal certificate.
• Experience working in the law department of an aerospace company, federal government contractor, other large companies, and/or law firm experience.
• Experience conducting on-line legal research, e.g., researching statutes, regulations, case law, government reports, etc.
• Experience assisting lawyers with internal investigations, including document collection, interviews, reviews and organization.

Salary Range: $67,100 USD - $111,900 USD

Salary Range 2: $82,400 USD - $137,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
