Position: Painter / Assembler


Role

The Painter/Assembler prepares and applies paint, primer and other coatings to a variety of equipment prior to and during the assembly process. The Painter/Assembler also performs the tasks associated with assemblies and sub-assemblies in the final assembly of equipment for Conair, Republic Machine, or Thermal Care brand products. This role requires good mechanical aptitude and organizational skills for the production of precision parts and assemblies. This position reports to the production team leaders and is located in our assembly plant in Franklin, Pennsylvania.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Correctly assess for proper surface preparation and prepping materials for painting;
  • Operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents, debur or otherwise prepare fabricated items for application of paint and or other protective coatings;
  • Mix and preparation of paint to specifications;
  • Operate spray or coating equipment as required;
  • Clean and maintain paint guns, equipment, paint booth, ventilation and personal protective equipment;
  • Keep all material storage areas in a neat and orderly condition;
  • Maintain inventory of paint, cleaners, additives and daily paint and material usage logs;
  • Assemble equipment to engineering drawings, schematics, and IPEG standards, based on work orders or production schedules, according to specifications;
  • Perform quality checks on products and parts;
  • Position or align components for assembly;
  • Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies;
  • Verbally report progress and problems to the team leader in a professional manner;
  • Be a positive team member with a good honest work ethic.
