Job Purpose Statement:

Provide general labor functions for the department, whether loading or unloading the line, or installing bearings in wheels, while working as part of a team.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Primarily loads or unloads the paint line, or install bearings in wheels.
• May also be utilized to perform other paint tasks, such as blowing out hubs, wiping water off wheels or removing paint from the zerks.
• Work towards meeting all daily production goals for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.
• Understanding of the Paint production schedule and ability to apply it in your job duties.
• Assist in preparation and set up for the next product on the Paint schedule.
• Properly store and maintain production parts, tools, and other equipment
• Maintain equipment and work area in safe and orderly conditions.
• Ensure that all safety devices are in place and operational prior to starting production.
• Report to management any unsafe or malfunctioning safety devices or other equipment.
• Observes all safety rules and instructions.
• Responsible for checking own work for compliance with Quality Standards.
• Looks for other production irregularities and reports to management any irregularities in production quality and on equipment needing repair, maintenance, or adjustments
• Any other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

Education/Qualifications:

• High School diploma/GED required, or commit to obtain a GED with Carlstar sponsored GED program within 12 months of hire date
• Successfully pass a background check and physical exam.
• Must be willing to work any shift and overtime
• Basic reading, writing, arithmetic skills
• Basic computer skills
• Read operational/service manuals.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask.
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to provide oral and written communication to all levels of employees within the company.
• Ability to accurately record your work on production paperwork.
• Good attendance record (less than 4 points)

Physical:

• Ability to work in hot and cold environments
• Ability to stand for duration of shift, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing.
• Hand/eye coordination.
• Continual reaching, lifting and moving light weight material (6 lbs.)
