Job Description:
The Medical Director is responsible for the efficient and effective medical services provided to patients according to the Policies & Procedures. Conducts patient's medical history and physical examinations. Medical monitoring of patients in all phases of treatment as required.
Position Summary:
We're seeking a Medical Director to join our office-based medicated assistance program. The ideal candidate would have the knowledge and skills to provide prevention, screening, intervention and treatment related to substance use disorders. As an outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, Crossroads has been serving 10 states (PA, VA, TX, TN, NC, NJ, KY, GA, CO, SC) with over 100+ clinics since 2005. Essential Duties:
  • Model appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with clients and co-workers
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments as indicated by patient assessment.
  • Coordinate care with ancillary healthcare providers and making referrals when appropriate
  • Keep updated on current drug abuse and treatment information
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a treatment plan
  • Monitor patients continuously and maintains a safe, protective environment for the patients.
  • Complete medical documentation according to Crossroads standards.
  • Document any incidents or unusual occurrences per policy and procedure
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties that are assigned:
  • Admissions of all patients.
  • Discharge of patients for non-compliance with treatment.
  • Phase increases or decreases.
  • Medication Dose increases or decreases.
  • Perform annual history and physical on each patient.
  • Adherence to protocols for emesis, intoxication, missed days, etc..
  • Completion of NCCRS a minimum of 2x per year but specifically at admission, phase up and for exceptions.
  • Signing off on and approval/denial of exception reports.
  • Being available/on call for emergencies and approval of changes in doses for emergencies for your center.
  • Participating in Weekly Treatment Team to review cases, phase increases and staff difficult cases.
  • Actively execute coordination of care for patients.
  • Assist with coverage for each other for vacations and other requested time off.
  • Perform other duties as required and described for Medical Director per federal and state regulations.
Position Requirements:
  • Medical Degree from accredited college/university.
  • Possess a medical license in the state of Georgia(ASAM or ABAM certified).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in substance abuse treatment.
  • If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence is required.
