Overview

The Outreach Program Coordinator will assist in the implementation of the in school/ after-school programs for youth in
South Kingston, Middletown and Newport and ensure a positive and safe environment for all participants. This person
will be responsible for helping to create an environment that is safe, structured and engaging for our Club members.
Salary range is $34,000 - $38,000 based on experience.

*Responsibilities
*

• Oversee and support/implement services and programs for our outreach efforts in our partner communities.
• Recruit youth and maintain accurate member files, data entry, and other reporting for members served through

outreach programming. Manage grant outcomes and support reporting efforts as needed

• Participate in strategic planning to improve the quality of services, recruit and retain participants and generate

revenue

• Intentionally outreach to socio-economically diverse youth
• identify and respond to the mental and behavioral health needs of youth, with a focus on prevention through

direct service and community collaboration

• Encourage members to participate in a variety of program areas/activities aligned to the BGCA tenets
• Assist in the implementation of a quality and comprehensive program plan utilizing tools and strategies set forth

by the Boys & Girls Club of America, local and federal funders and the RI Department of Education

• Work with the staff to ensure that the program is properly supervised, and equipped for routine use
• Maintain behavior expectations with members and assists them in fulfilling and making appropriate choices.
• Ensure a safe and respectful environment by orienting members to club rules, expectations and safety protocols.

Address all issues in a timely manner

*Qualifications
*

• Associates degree or higher preferred
• Experience in working with children from culturally diverse backgrounds
• Knowledge of youth development practices to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
• Experience planning and implementing quality programs for youth
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
• Valid State Driver’s License & ability to obtain chauffeurs license within 60 days
• All staff must assist in major fundraising events and activities
• Must have a flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends as needed to serve members
